Pretzel & Stouffer’s recreation and leisure industry litigation practice group has specialized experience in representing and defending the amusement industry. Our attorneys defend theme parks, family entertainment centers, ice and roller skating rinks, water parks, golf courses, ski areas, bowling centers, concert venues, arenas, carnivals, go-cart tracks, sporting teams and venues, zoos, equestrian facilities, and health and fitness clubs. We work closely with business and industry leaders and their insurers to help draft risk management guidelines and provide seminars and mock trial presentations for the industry’s benefit.
Pretzel & Stouffer attorneys serve on the Board of Directors of IALDA, the International Amusement and Leisure Defense Association (www.ialda.org), which is an association of defense counsel, insurance professionals, risk managers, experts and association operators who actively defend the interests of the amusement, recreation and sports industries. Through IALDA, our attorneys give numerous presentations and risk management seminars at industry conferences, trade shows and conventions. The seminars for our clients and for the industry include maintaining a culture of safety, risk management guidelines, litigation trends, how to avoid accidents and lawsuits, mock trials, how to give a deposition, regulations and industry standards.
As members of IAAPA, the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, our attorneys also regularly attend and give presentations at the Roller Skating Association Convention, the Bowling Proprietors Association of America, the Amusement Industry Manufacturers and Suppliers International and at the IAAPA Annual Trade Show and Convention.
