Chicago Police Officer Immunity leads to Summary Judgment

Pretzel & Stouffer recently achieved summary judgment for their clients, an undercover police officer and his employer, the City of Chicago. Richard Waris and Tom Draths defended against claims of negligence and willful and wanton misconduct. They were able to establish through depositions and motion practice that their clients were immune from liability because they were engaging in law enforcement activities when the defendant-officers vehicle allegedly struck a minor-pedestrian.
