Divorce Attorney Exonerated in Legal Malpractice Suit Brought By His Former Lawyer Client

Jim Sipchen obtained a dismissal of legal malpractice case brought against a divorce attorney by his former client who also happened to be a lawyer. The former client argued that his attorney had severely prejudiced him by withdrawing from representation at such a late stage in his divorce case that he was forced to settle that case under unfavorable terms. The client also made claims that during the representation, his attorney had failed to protect him from his ex-wife’s removal of marital property items from their home by filing a claim for injunctive relief.
