Overview
Charlene Echeverria Burciaga’s emerging practice is focused on defending healthcare organizations, hospitals, and professionals. Charlene welcomes the challenge of extensive research and investigation and learning the details of medicine to develop effective defenses. With her attention to detail and diligent work ethic, Charlene is a strong advocate for her clients and is focused on serving their best interests during the course of each matter she handles.
Charlene received her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and Criminology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and her Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago School of Law. While in law school, Charlene externed for the Honorable Judge Matthew Kennelly of the Illinois Northern District Court. She also participated in the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois Moot Court team and the prestigious Houston Invitational team and was an associate editor of the Journal of Regulatory Compliance. Charlene was awarded the Public Interest and Leadership Award for her work as the president of two student organizations and as a clinician for the Health Justice Project, the Community Law Clinic, and the Business Law Clinic, serving Chicago families, non-profits, and entrepreneurs.
Prior to joining Pretzel & Stouffer, Charlene was a Pool Law Clerk for the Circuit Court of Cook County. While there she worked alongside several of the Judges in the Law Division’s high-volume motions section and gained meaningful motion practice and trial experience.
A lifelong Chicagoan and Lane Tech High School alumnus, Charlene enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her dog Nube, and starting her days early.
